Hi sweetie. Hope you had a restful day and enjoyed looking at the blog today. There are so many people just that I know who are praying for you and constantly ask me how you're doing. And I know a lot of people!
I loved the poem you wrote to your Mom. I remember that she showed that to me before and that she loves it so much.
I'm still in Arkansas and the heat actually went down to 89 today. Ken told me that it was in the 70s in Michigan and he had to put on his sweatshirt to walk the dog. Let's see, what does a sweatshirt look like again???
Anyway, I'm thinking of you Cindy and as always, I love you so much.
Hi honey...it's your favorite Aunt with her daily blurb. I didn't get a chance to talk to your Mom or you today. So sorry, but I'll try to call tomorrow after work. I hope to be able to call you at home real soon! I went to a different office today and several commented on your great web site. I am so glad they're visiting. I told them not to be shy (like me), but to post a comment.
I saw another armadillo today...it seems so weird to see those along the road. The news showed two bear cubs in somebody's back yard and one had a jar on its head. They were able to capture the mother, then get the cub so they could take the jar off its head. I guess they nicknamed him "Jarhead." How appropriate.
I know it's a short note, sweetie, but have to get up early. Love you so much, Cindy the Great!
On June 14, 2010, Cindy underwent a Craniotomy at the Barros Neurological Institute in Phoenix, Arizona, to have a grade four Glioblastoma removed from the right temporal lobe of her brain. The team of surgeons at BNI were successful in removing most of the tumor leaving behind a small portion that remains in the part of the brain that controls her speech. Cindy is currently receiving chemotherapy seven days a week and radiation Monday through Friday. Cindy generously donated her tumor to research in hopes that someday a cure can be found. Cindy has also volunteered to be involved in a double-blind drug study at BNI where she receives a bi-weekly infusion to aid in the process in her healing.
This blog was created by the family members of Cindy Welch-Perry to inform friends and family of her progress on her path to recovery as she struggles against all odds to fight Brain Cancer.
