My favorite time of the day...departing some words of wisdom (ha,ha) to my wonderful nice, Cindy the Great! Okay, so maybe not wisdom...just words. It was great to talk to you today, sweetie. You sounded wonderful. I am so glad that your headache is gone. I know your Mom is glad to be back there with you. Sure wish I was there as well...maybe soon. I finally got to see the Channel 12 video. Gosh, I'm sure you enjoyed helping that cute young man that was sitting next to you. By the way...can I have your autograph? I love you sweetie and will be back tomorrow. Stay strong! You're in my heart as always.
Hey kiddo, Just sittin here wondering how your day is going...anything I can bring you from Michigan, that I can bring on a plane? I'm looking forward to our time together in a couple of weeks...I love you and admire you...I know you don't know what your courage has done and touched so many. You are also my hero...see you soon...Aunt Jo
Good to talk to you today. You sound pretty tired, but you still managed to make me laugh. You are such an amazing person...I'm so glad you have such a great support system...soon your Dad will be there, I know he misses all his girls. He used to tell such funny stories of living in a house of 4 girls...bras and tampons, he used to say...haha!!!!!!!!! I'll talk to you soon...you are in my heart...love, Aunt Jo
On June 14, 2010, Cindy underwent a Craniotomy at the Barros Neurological Institute in Phoenix, Arizona, to have a grade four Glioblastoma removed from the right temporal lobe of her brain. The team of surgeons at BNI were successful in removing most of the tumor leaving behind a small portion that remains in the part of the brain that controls her speech. Cindy is currently receiving chemotherapy seven days a week and radiation Monday through Friday. Cindy generously donated her tumor to research in hopes that someday a cure can be found. Cindy has also volunteered to be involved in a double-blind drug study at BNI where she receives a bi-weekly infusion to aid in the process in her healing.
This blog was created by the family members of Cindy Welch-Perry to inform friends and family of her progress on her path to recovery as she struggles against all odds to fight Brain Cancer.
